What we do

Food Service Environments are complex – part process manufacturing, part traffic management and part theatrical stage set. PARACHIN has over 60 years of collective experience in directing these complex components into a coherent and fulfilling experience.
Airports are amazing places, they are the commencement and terminus of great vehicles of flight. These complicated facilities handle millions of passengers along with high volumes of airline and building staff. Passenger amenities and flight support functions are critical to the smooth operation of this industry. The staff of PARACHIN has over 30 years of experience working in these complex environments.
Effective companies uphold visions that express partly who they are and partly who they wish to become. The workplace environments provide opportunities for companies to express their goals and aspirations as well as incubators of collaboration and innovation. PARACHIN has been involved in a number of visionary work environments.
Retail environment provide real opportunities for customers to engage with products. Establishing clear merchandise organization, enhancing visibility of product displays and effective customer circulation are essential elements of successful retail design. Since the mid 1980s, the staff of PARACHIN has been engaged in creating dynamic retail environments.

Patrons of fine arts and cuisine now have a delightful local restaurant to experience both. Having already established itself in Mexico as a showcase for local Oaxacan artists, Mezcalina and Black Coffee Gallery ventured into the Chicago restaurant scene. PARACHIN created this 3,020 SF restaurant gallery to highlight the mural sized paintings, the custom blown glass pendant lights and the iconic stacked coffee cup sculpture.

Genlink LLC, Orchestrate Hospitality and PARACHIN collaborated to re-concept an existing 6,500 SF restaurant in The Amsterdam Hotel located on the Molengracht Plaza in Pella, Iowa. Liberty Street Kitchen provides contemporary comfort cuisine that celebrates modern rural living. The refined dining room and bar/lounge design enhances the restaurant’s approachable dining experience. Featured in the main dining room is a commissioned Grant William Thye painting that salutes the American prairie.

Performance with Purpose

PEPSICO CHICAGO SUSTAINABILITY CENTER

To promote PepsiCo’s operating strategy, “Performance with Purpose”, PARACHIN created a 3,500-SF resource facility in the Chicago headquarters that focuses on the corporation’s three sustainability initiatives; Human Sustainability, Environmental Sustainability and Talent Sustainability. This LEED Platinum Certified project provides a multi-purpose meeting and resource/exhibit space with interactive education displays. Roof top wind turbines and photovoltaic panels were installed to provide an on-site renewable energy source to the facility.

Orchestrate Hospitality worked with PARACHIN to develop a 6,150 SF restaurant that celebrates Latin culture, art and food. Inspired by mid-century Cuba, Malo is a bold dining experience located in a renovated historic art deco Des Moines Fire Station. The utilization of bold colors and extensive art program evokes a vibrant Latino dining environment. Chicago Graffiti artist Mark Anthony Flores was commissioned to create the main dining room feature wall mural of the “Dapper Luchador”.
